2026-07-17
Overview
The First Temporal Bone Anatomy & Otosurgery Training Course of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, themed “Imparting Knowledge and Resolving Clinical Puzzles”, was successfully held from July 10 to 12, 2026. Sponsored by the Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery Committee of the Chinese Association of Medical Equipment and undertaken by Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Hospital, this training program aims to boost the development of otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and meet the healthcare demands of residents in borderland regions for a better quality of life.

Invited Expert Faculty
The event invited the expert team consisting of Prof. Feng Guodong and Prof. Tian Xu from the Department of Otology and Lateral Skull Base Surgery, Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) to deliver lectures. The curriculum was built on the classic Fisch temporal bone anatomy training system adopted by PUMCH Otology, integrated with decades of clinical experience of PUMCH in temporal bone anatomy training, complex otologic surgeries and lateral skull base procedures. The training systematically guided participants to master fundamental temporal bone and lateral skull base anatomy, surgical approaches and clinical decision-making frameworks.

Core Training Features
1
Systematic curriculum integrating classic Fisch surgical techniques with clinical experience accumulated at Peking Union Medical College Hospital;
2
Problem-oriented teaching focusing on real clinical scenarios, with strong practicability and clinical translational value;
3
Small-group hands-on training with one-on-one tutoring;
4
Integrated teaching combining theoretical lectures, anatomical specimen dissection and live surgical demonstrations.
During the teaching sessions, the two professors shared in-depth expertise covering fundamental surgical principles, human-machine coordination key points, intraoperative precautions and first-line clinical experience, enabling all trainees to gain substantial clinical insights.

Supporting Surgical Equipment Introduction
The LHDL-ET401 endoscopic surgical power system manufactured by Chengdu EndoTronic Technology Co., Ltd. was deployed for the training, equipped with the LHHP-TB601 high-speed otologic burr handpiece rated at 75,000 revolutions per minute (RPM). This system features ultra-high rotational speed, low noise, low temperature rise, precise manipulation, minimal invasiveness and superior surgical safety, and is applicable to minimally invasive surgeries across otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery. Rooted in clinical translational research and in-house development, Chengdu LaserTronic Technology continuously develops ergonomic surgical instruments tailored to clinical demands.
